Prior to switching to the Strymon El Capistan V1 (and later Strymon Timeline), Mark was using the Red Witch Violetta Delay as his main delay pedal. As the reason for switching to the El Capistan, Mark noted that the Red Witch sounded too dark.
I used to use a Red Witch Violetta delay (has an ⅛” exp pedal input for controlling feedback). I think my only gripe was that the repeats seemed really dark. That’s why I got the El Cap when I could afford it.
