Mark has recently added the Nose Micro Volume to his setup – a small, passive, hand-built volume pedal placed somewhere after the DS-1 in his chain. This allows him to reduce his volume while keeping the full, overdriven signal intact. Rolling back the volume on the guitar itself would weaken the pickup signal before it hits any pedals, resulting in a thinner tone – something the Nose neatly sidesteps.
There’s also a Nose volume pedal. It’s like a volume knob that allows me to move it with my feet on the board.
