John Frusciante’s MXR M300 Reverb

John started using this reverb pedal after rejoining the Red Hot Chili Peppers in 2021. It first appeared on his pedalboard in a photo taken at the Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles on April 3, 2022 (see John Frusciante’s 2022 Pedalboard).

In a May 2022 interview with Total Guitar, John revealed that he uses two of these pedals during live performances. However, when recording in the studio, he opts for real room reverb to achieve a more authentic and organic sound.

That was on almost all the time [at rehearsals]. The other is set for a more long kind of reverb.
