This pedal was spotted on John’s pedalboard during the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ gig at the Apollo Theater on September 13, 2022. Interestingly, this is the only time the pedal was seen on his board, so its exact purpose remains unclear.
Notably, John removed the footswitch labeled “Up and Down” from the pedal. This switch typically allows the user to toggle between an auto-wah effect and a down-swoop sound. It’s unclear why John made this modification, but it could suggest he was only using one of the two modes.
