John Frusciante’s Line 6 DL-4 Delay Modeler
The Line 6 DL4 Delay Modeler first appeared on John’s pedalboard during the By The Way era, around 2001. It was typically placed next to a Line 6 FM4 Filter Modeler, which shares a similar design but is purple. The DL4 remained part of John’s setup until his second departure from the band, but it was absent when he rejoined in 2022.
Given its use during the By The Way tour, the DL4 is likely heard on songs like Don’t Forget Me and other tracks featuring delay effects. However, since John also used a DigiTech PDS 1002 Digital Delay at the time, it’s difficult to determine which pedal was used for specific parts.
