Before leaving the Red Hot Chili Peppers in 2009, John primarily used Levy’s MSSC8-BLK straps. These simple cotton straps are relatively inexpensive compared to premium leather options, but John seemed to favor them, using them on all his guitars. The strap can extend up to 54 inches, or 66 inches for the X-long version.
Interestingly, John was more frequently seen with Guitar Center-branded straps, which are nearly identical but feature the GC logo on the leather patch instead of Levy’s branding. It’s likely these straps were produced by Levy’s exclusively for Guitar Center.

Yep it’s that one. You can see in the pictures of him that the logo doesn’t match the Levy’s oneq
Didn’t he use guitar center straps?
I think you’re right. The ones that he uses have a GC logo on the leather patch – I’m just now seeing it. I also think it’s possible that these are probably manufactured by Levy’s and share everything but the logo, at least it seems as though from the photos. I’m gonna try and contact Levy’s for confirmation.
Well, he used both Levy’s and GC straps, so you are not wrong. https://larabrailss.tumblr.com/post/131963729116/johnfrusciante-john-frusciantes-beard-2008
Alright, cool then! I sent an inquiry to Levy’s. Hopefully, they’ll tell us whether these are identical or not, and then I’ll add the GC strap on a separate page if necessary.
