This 1960s Rickenbacker 365 Deluxe is one of the guitars photographed during John’s Vintage Guitar magazine interview in 2009. Based on the photos, this appears to be the Deluxe version of the standard 360 model, featuring a tremolo and white binding along the body’s edge. Notably, the guitar was reportedly owned by James Burton before John acquired it, with Burton’s name engraved on the tremolo cover.
The only other time John was seen with this guitar was in the music video for “Dani California.” Unfortunately, it remains unknown whether the guitar was used on any recordings.
I just read in an article that he uses a 12 string on the chorus of warm tape, which probably is the rickenbacker
Hi John. Do you maybe have a link to the article?

He states here that he uses a 12 String like George Harrison who used a Rickenbacker as well and it’s his only 12 string afaik.
I actually think he used it on warm tape on the by the way record… That one guitar playing a small lick in each chorus doesnt sound like a 6 string electric…
John’s Rickenbacker is only a 6 string https://images.app.goo.gl/YxxvJBhyRJx9Q9SQ7
