Jimmy Page used a custom triple-neck acoustic instrument built for him by British luthier Andy Manson in 1994. The guitar combines a mandolin, a 12-string guitar, and a 6-string guitar in a single body.
Page used the instrument during the Page and Plant No Quarter: Unledded project, where it allowed him to move between different acoustic parts without switching guitars. The project featured reworked Led Zeppelin songs arranged with a stronger acoustic and orchestral approach.
According to the story, Manson had previously built a similar triple-neck instrument for Led Zeppelin bassist John Paul Jones. Page then commissioned his own version for the 1994 Unledded performances.
