This seems to be the pick Jimi used most often. In photos, you can usually spot him holding a red and black pick in his hand. It was likely a Fender 351-shaped celluloid pick, though it’s possible he occasionally used picks from Manny’s Music.

SRV used Fender medium celluloid guitar picks too, and if SRV and Hendrix use them, there must be a reason. It seems a medium pickup produces a “pop” that gets a musical woody sound lacking from a heavy pick. I have some D’Andrea medium/heavy celluloid picks too (the only place I could find them, had to buy a bag of them though). The M/H is between the heavy and medium in tone, but the medium has become my favorite lately.
