Yamaha Corporation, founded in 1887 by Torakusu Yamaha in Japan, started as a manufacturer of pianos and reed organs. Over time, it expanded into a broad range of products, including musical instruments and electronics. Yamaha became the world’s largest manufacturer of musical instruments, including guitars, after World War II, when the company repurposed its production capabilities for post-war manufacturing.
