Famous Ibanez Jet King Guitar Players
The Ibanez Jet King series is a family of electric guitars introduced by Ibanez, known for its retro-inspired design and versatility. The series includes several models, each with distinct features:
Jet King 1 (JTK1): Introduced as the first in the series, the JTK1 resembles the 1960s FujiGen EJ-2-T and Teisco MJ-2, with a body featuring a smaller upper horn and 3-a-side tuners. It originally came with Powersound PSND1 and PSND2 humbuckers, though some versions have been reported with Ibanez Super 58 pickups. Available finishes included Butterscotch Transparent, Ivory, Metallic Light Blue, and Black Red Sunburst.
Jet King 2 (JTK2): An upgrade from the JTK1, the Jet King 2 features a body shape similar to the 1960s Ibanez Rhythm Maker and a one-side tuner configuration. The first edition, noted for its collectible value, featured a mahogany body, Ibanez Super 58 pickups, and a tortoise pickguard. The second edition, produced from 2003 to 2004, included a 1-piece maple neck, rosewood fingerboard, and a mix of Ibanez Super 58 and Axis pickups. It was available in black and white or red and white with various pickup configurations and controls for enhanced versatility.
Jet King 3 (JTK3): Revealed at the 2007 NAMM Show, the JTK3 features a mahogany body and is equipped with P-90 style soapbar pickups (IBZ HFS1 and IBZ HFS2). Standard colors include Roadster Orange Metallic, Bluestone, Turquoise, and Red Bean.
Jet King 4 (JTK4): Also introduced at the 2007 NAMM Show, the JTK4 retains the mahogany body but adds a Bigsby-style tremolo and two humbuckers (ACH3 neck pickup and ACH4 bridge pickup).
