Famous Gretsch 6122 Guitar Players
The Gretsch 6122, known as the Country Gentleman, was the first model from Gretsch with a thinline body, measuring around 2 inches deep, in contrast to the deeper bodies of other models like the 6120. This guitar featured a single-cutaway design and a wider 17-inch body, similar to other Chet Atkins models. Finished in a semi-transparent brown, dubbed a “rich mahogany-grained country-style finish,” the 6122 was well-regarded for its aesthetic and playability.
