Famous Gibson J-200 Guitar Players
The Gibson J-200, originally named the Super Jumbo 200, was introduced in 1937 as Gibson’s top-tier flat-top acoustic guitar. With a large 16 7/8″ body and a spruce top, it initially featured rosewood back and sides, transitioning to maple in 1947. Known for its powerful strumming tone, the guitar became highly prized, especially the early rosewood models.
Gibson currently produces various J-200 models, including the SJ-200 Studio, Standard, and Custom, along with reissues and limited editions like the Prewar SJ-200 and True Vintage.
