Famous Gibson ES-125 Guitar Players
The Gibson ES-125 is an archtop, hollow-body electric guitar produced by the Gibson Guitar Corporation. Introduced in 1941 as a successor to the ES-100, it was designed as an entry-level model with one P-90 single-coil pickup, a single volume control, and a single tone control. Initially, it featured a smaller 14.5″ body but was reintroduced in 1946 with a larger 16.25″ body, similar to the ES-150. The fingerboard originally had pearl trapezoid inlays but was later updated to dot inlays.
In the mid-1950s, the ES-125T variant was introduced, featuring a thinline body and options for double P-90 pickups and a sharp florentine cutaway, resembling the ES-175. Both the standard and thinline models were discontinued by the 1970s.
