Gibson Guitars

Gibson, Inc., originally founded by Orville Gibson in 1902 in Kalamazoo, Michigan, is a prominent American manufacturer of guitars and musical instruments. Known for its innovative archtop and electric guitars, Gibson introduced iconic models such as the Les Paul and ES-335. After being acquired by Chicago Musical Instruments in 1944, the company faced a decline in quality under subsequent ownership by Norlin Corporation. In 1986, Gibson was purchased by a group led by Henry Juszkiewicz, which revitalized the brand and expanded production to Nashville, Tennessee, and other locations. Despite filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2018 and restructuring, Gibson remains a key player in the music industry, known for its classic and modern guitar designs.
