Famous Fender Jag-Stang Guitar Players

The Fender Jag-Stang is an electric guitar designed by Kurt Cobain, blending features from the Fender Jaguar and Mustang. Cobain proposed the design to Fender, creating a hybrid by combining elements from both models. Two left-handed prototypes were built, one of which Cobain used during Nirvana’s In Utero tour, although he played it live only a few times.

The guitar was first introduced in 1994 and has been produced in various periods: 1994, 1995–2001, 2003–2005, and again from 2021 to the present. It features a solid body, a bolt-on neck joint, and a scale length of 24 inches (609.6 mm). The body is made of basswood or alder on reissues, with a maple neck and rosewood fretboard. The hardware includes a Fender Dynamic Vibrato bridge and vintage style single coil and Fender Santa Ana humbucker pickups. It is available in Sonic Blue and Fiesta Red.
