Famous Fender Electric XII Guitar Players
The Fender Electric XII, introduced in late 1965 and discontinued around 1970, is a purpose-built 12-string electric guitar designed to cater to folk rock musicians. Featuring a Jaguar/Jazzmaster-style body and a unique “hockey-stick” headstock for twelve tuners, it stands out with its split pickup design and a string-through-body for enhanced sustain. Although it wasn’t widely popular during its initial run, it has seen a resurgence in interest, particularly with notable players such as Pete Townshend, Jimmy Page, and Eric Clapton. The Electric XII was reintroduced in 2019 as part of Fender’s Alternate Reality series.
