The ESP MX-250, produced from 1991 to 2000, and later available as a custom order in Japan until 2021, is a high-end electric guitar from the Japan Custom Shop. It features a set neck construction with a mahogany neck and body and an ebony fingerboard with 22 XJ frets and pearl dot inlays. The body is 39mm thick and the scale length is 24.75 inches (628mm). The MX-250 has a distinctive shape with sharper points and a slightly longer body compared to the MX-220, and it uses a bullet-style truss rod cover introduced in 1997.

The guitar’s electronics include active EMG pickups in both the bridge and neck positions, controlled by a volume knob, tone knob, and a three-way toggle switch. It is equipped with Gotoh tuners, a Gotoh ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge, and a stop bar tailpiece.
