The Epiphone Texan FT-79, produced from 1961 to 1967, is a notable dreadnought acoustic guitar known for its natural and sunburst finishes. After Gibson acquired Epiphone in 1957, the company redesigned its ’40s flattops to include features similar to the Gibson J-45, resulting in the Texan. The guitar, with a spruce top and mahogany back and sides, gained fame through Paul McCartney’s use on “Yesterday” and has also been played by Kurt Cobain, Ben Gibbard, Noel Gallagher, and Peter Frampton.
