Baldwin Guitars
Baldwin Guitars emerged in 1965 when the Baldwin Piano Company acquired Burns Guitars, renaming it “Baldwin-Burns.” Initially, they rebranded existing Burns models with minor cosmetic changes and new badges, while maintaining the quality of instruments like the Marvin and Jazz Guitar. Despite efforts to expand with new models and amplifiers, collectors often viewed the Baldwin-era guitars as inferior. In 1967, Baldwin shifted focus to the Gretsch brand they had also acquired, eventually winding down Baldwin guitar production in 1970.
