Ampeg Guitars
Ampeg, founded in 1946 by Everett Hull and Stanley Michaels, is renowned for its bass amplifiers, especially the iconic B-15 and SVT models. Initially established as “Michael-Hull Electronic Labs,” the company started with a bass amp and upright bass pickup. Over the years, Ampeg became a leading name in the bass amp market, eventually expanding its offerings to guitar amps and instruments. Despite several ownership changes, including acquisitions by Unimusic, Magnavox, and Yamaha Guitar Group, Ampeg remains a major force in the bass amplifier industry. The company also holds six U.S. patents.
