Billie Joe Armstrong has been using Ernie Ball strings for most of his career. His main choice has long been the Regular Slinky set, gauged .010 to .046, which is what you’ll see on guitars like Blue and his Les Paul Juniors.
More recently, Billie has been seen with Ernie Ball Paradigm Regular Slinkys. These are essentially the same 10–46 set he’s always preferred, but built tougher for touring, with added durability so they hold up under his heavy strumming. Ernie Ball itself confirmed that this is what he relies on when Green Day is out on the road.
