Billie bought this 1970 Martin D‑41 in Hollywood while recording 21st Century Breakdown in late 2008 or early 2009. The Reverb Garage Sale listing confirms he used it on “21 Guns” and other tracks from that cycle. The guitar shows real working condition – scratches, capo wear at the first fret, and a crack extending from the bridge to the sound hole.
In 2017, he sold it through the Green Day Reverb Shop for $5,950, complete with a signed certificate of authenticity.
